To celebrate National Cruise Vacation Month (NCVM), on October 19, Academy Travel hosted a World’s       Largest Cruise Night (WLCN) event at the Holiday Inn in Manahawkin. The event was sponsored, nationwide, by (CLIA) Cruise Lines International Association*.  The event provided travelers with the chance to meet with the very best cruise and vacation planning resource - CLIA-member travel agency professionals.

In addition to the hundreds of attendees, Robert Sharak, Executive Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, Cruise Lines International Association and Carrie Casullo, District Sales Manager, Disney Destinations were on hand for the event.

Academy Travel’s World’s Largest Cruise Night showcased the industries leading cruise lines, including the Disney, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Norwegian, Carnival and Princess.

Featured in Travel Weekly  There were be hors d’overs and a cash bar for adults.  For children there was a Disney themed Princess & 

Pirate Tea Party, coloring contests, Disney pin trading stations and free refreshments.   Guests won prizes like t-shirts and shipboard credit and one lucky guest received a $500 gift certificate that can be applied to the Disney Cruise Line cruise of their choice in 2007.

*Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) - A marketing, promotion and training organization composed of 19 member cruise lines operating 140 ships throughout the world and nearly 17,000 North American travel agencies. CLIA was formed in 1975 in response to a need for an association to promote the benefits of cruising.
